Desacralizing an ancestral art to sacralize new modern icons.
Intrigued since always by these large luminous and coloured bays, I started the design of stained glass windows 7 years ago, following a meeting with Didier Quenet, Master glassmaker installed in Ile-de-France for more than 10 years. I was immediately fascinated by the potential that stained glass can offer, in terms of colour, light and the graphic harmony that can be created.
However, it was inconceivable for me to take the religious direction of stained glass, but instead to reinterpret more contemporary symbols in a different way and to use my professional experience in graphic design, but also to combine it with my artistic interests such as Pop Art and Street Art.
This is why I chose this artistic direction: geometric lines to recall the technique of stained glass, colours for the light they give off, and the icon, modern and/or urban, as the central pivot of the creation.
